DIY Install - Large Round Kits
Headlight Armor - DIY Install - Large Round Headlights & Fog Lights
Step 1:
Clean the lenses. Clean your hands. Make sure there are no residues from the cleaning process remaining on the lenses or your hands. Without removing the lens cover from the backing paper hold it up to the lens and make sure you have the correct one / orientation (i.e. Slightly ovoid lenses). Wet down one lens with water - a clean spray bottle / plant mister works great.
Step 2:
If it is cool - below 65 degrees F gently warming the material with a hair dryer will help things along. Carefully remove the cover from the backing paper - handling the adhesive as little as possible. Mist down the adhesive side and gently place on the lens. Handling the edges align the top third of the piece - then align the remaining edges. The piece will be 'floating' on the beads of water on the lens. Be gentle the adhesive is pressure sensitive.
Step 3:
Once the piece is aligned, start in the center and gently squeegee the very center - dragging the blade - in the photo the motion would be upward at this point. Now the piece is 'anchored'. From the anchored section in the center squeegee down to the bottom - pushing the blade - in the photo the motion would now be downward. Repeat squeegeeing upward to the top.
Step 4:
Now the center section - from top to bottom is set. Squeegee outward - in the photo toward the right side. Make sure to use firm pressure on the blade and start in the section that is ALREADY SET. This will help insure you trap no air or water in the process. If there is a strong contour to the lens, work in slices from the center out - like a pizza.
Step 5:
Repeat step 4 on the remaining side.
You are almost done. Go over the edges with a paper towel, pressing firmly to make sure all the edge is firmly sealed. If it is cool - below 65 degrees F, going over the edges with a hairdryer on low can help the process along. NOW you are DONE, yes it was that easy.
