HeadlightArmor smoked taillight kits are a much better alternative to taking your tail lights apart and painting the inside (paint can be uneven and it is permanent), painting the outside with a product like VHT Nightshades, or some 'stained glass' paint you find at the hobby store. They are also better to the old fashioned clip-on / tape-on
hard plastic / acrylic tail light kits that are easily stolen, and much cheaper than buying OE style smoked replacement housings or lenses.

The Headlight Armor smoked film covers, which are precision cut with a computer, are made from our heavy-duty premium 20mil (.51mm) thick material with a clear acrylic adhesive backing for excellent durability and strength! Do not confuse these with 'overlays', as most overlays are typically made from 2-3mil vinyl that is designed for signs and provide no real protection to your expensive lights. They are applied in a manner similar to clear bras, tints, and vinyl stickers & graphics. The tough film also helps protect against everyday road hazards that can damage and destroy your vehicle's very expensive lights, such as shopping carriages, careless shoppers and the like. The material is removable but you can only apply it once after the adhesive has cured. All this while giving your vehicle a distinctive look!

HeadlightArmor smoked taillight kits are available in three different tint levels. Our Light Smoke taillight Film kits allow ~50% light transmission and give a nice subtle factory smoked look to your taillights. Our Smoke covers allow ~30% light transmission; and look pretty dark when you look at your taillights as most are going over a red/dark red lens.
During the day they turn a bright red taillight a rich deep dark burgundy. In lower lighting conditions they look even darker. At night our smoke covers do not have such a large impact; the running lights, reflectors, and brake lights are clearly visible! If you were following somebody with the covers installed in a group of 10 different cars you would probably be hard pressed to guess which vehicle had our smoked taillight kit installed. The Stealth Smoke covers allow ~20% light transmission and look very dark when installed - great for show cars!

Most Headlight Armor kits can be installed in 15-45 minutes with the included instructions, included application squeegee, spray bottle and water, along with a hair dryer to warm the material. Take a look at your taillights, the more steep angles and bulges they have the more patience and force will be required to install these adhesive backed protective covers. If you don't feel confident about applying the film on your own, you may want to seek out the help of a friend.
